We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a CAT Scan Technician, Full-Time. Under the direct supervision of a radiologist, the Lead CT Technologist, and Director of Radiology Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic and CT procedures, according to the Radiology Department's philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures.

You Will:

  • Utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of the patient s internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
  • Accurately interpret a physician s scanning instructions.
  • Use standard procedures to identify the correct patient.
  • Select appropriate patient information from the HIS/RIS system in accordance with HIPPA regulations.
  • Effectively assess patient's information and status; schedule exams; appointment times; type of exam, patient reports, etc.
  • Administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
  • Independently implement patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
  • Explain the procedure and equipment to the patient clearly.
  • Recognize the need for and follows isolation precautions.
  • Perform visual and manual quality control checks of radiographic equipment.
  • Solve problems that arise during patient examinations using both technical knowledge and innovation.
  • Alter examination to maximize information in response to the patient s condition.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to radiology.
  • Confer with other technologists concerning previous approaches utilized.
  • Follow departmental HIS/RIS system procedures and protocol to ensure orders are verified and processed correctly.
  • Follow accepted radiologic procedures and uses medical information to determine the type of protocol required for radiographic examination.
  • Consult policy and procedure manuals and/or other reference materials as necessary to ensure actions conform to established protocols.
  • Use imaging and peripheral equipment, in a safe and productive manner in accordance with prescribed hospital, departmental and manufacturers procedures.
  • Observe and report any malfunctioning of the equipment and notifies appropriate persons in case of missing or damaged equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

You Have:

  • A High School Diploma/GED.
  • Graduated from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiography and CT Scan.
  • One year experience in CT Scan (Required).
  • 6 months to 1-year experience in a hospital (Preferred).
  • Experience working with PACS and digital technology.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
  • A License by the State of New Jersey.
  • Demonstrated skill in equipment set-up, utilization and proper maintenance procedure.
