University Housing and Dining is seeking to hire a Custodian I to provide safe, clean, and healthy environments in all residence halls. Duties to include:
- Clean, sanitize and disinfect all restroom surfaces.
- Ability to perform a high level of professional communication with students, staff, co-workers and visitors.
- Clean and provide service to all horizontal and vertical surfaces including; glass, walls, ceilings and light fixtures.
- Work at elevated heights.
- Floor work including vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and buffing.
- Project work including carpet extraction, bed configurations, floor stripping, waxing and buffing.
- Report and communicate repair needs for buildings and equipment.
- Moving furniture, supplies and equipment.
- Trash removal both inside and around the exterior of the building.
- Frequent use of commercial cleaning equipment.
- Stock and maintain supplies.
- Covering areas in any residence hall building.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 7:30am-4:00pm, and Monday 7:30am-11:30am.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to read, write and follow directions.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions.
- Experience working in a physically demanding position and moving up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Experience interacting with the customers.
- Willingness to work in environments that vary in temperature (heat/cold) as well as noise level.
- Ability to use commercial cleaning equipment.
