Job Function: Customer Service Associate Customer Service Team Player oversees all aspects of accounts relating to the international transportation of goods and the maintenance of the client’s needs Work with clients to establish detailed profiles and procedures that properly represent their export/import process.   • Customer Service Associate, Tasks and Duties:

1. Accurate recordkeeping is essential to the timely and effective transportation of goods, which is a major component of logistics.

2. Responsible for outgoing shipments. They determine that the right merchandise is being sent and is in as-ordered condition.

3. Keep records on the destination, weight, and charges on all incoming and outgoing freight. They check rate charges by means of rate charts. This work is often automated and computerized.

4. Contact Load Planner to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials

5. Compute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and charges for delays, using calculator or rate sheets.

6. Requesting further information for documents that are deemed incomplete

7. Verifying, correcting, deleting unnecessary data, or combining data from several sources before entering into the system

8. Entering information into specific document formats received electronically or hand-written pages or figures contained in electronic files

9. Double checking system information for errors or duplicate information before submitting or transmitting

10. Access online browser-based systems as per customer requirements and other affiliated business entities

11. Ensure completion of data entry assignment within prescribed timeframes

12. Scan photos, blueprints and other documents for data input into document management systems such as Synergize or image database

13. Input and store relevant documents sent in advance by customers prior to cargo and/or container arrival

14. While doing so, employee must follow the company policies and generally accepted procedures

15. Assist when requested to gather and arrange documentation and data for department audits

16. Must coordinate and correspond with Load Planner Associates, and be aware or knowledgeable of relevant logistical operations, including shipment set-ups, delivery instructions and estimated delivery expectations

17. Maintain records of all outgoing and incoming shipments from and to the warehouse and or container yard.

18. Efficiently following the orders of the Customer Service Specialist

19. Partner with Billing Associates to process invoices for customers and/or resolve invoice discrepancies

20. Analyze inventory reports to ensure cargo and/or containers are compliant

21. Oversee and expedite the order life cycle of shipments and Freight Bills to meet and exceed department KPI’s

22. Utilize web-based resources and company systems to notify customers of incoming and outgoing cargo.

23. Coordinating with compliance, transportation, warehouse, and terminal teams within the organization for smoothly receiving/ shipping of cargo and/or containers

24. Any other task as required by the Customer Service Supervisor / Manager Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour Benefits:
