JOB SUMMARY

The role of the Customer Service Representative is to contribute to the customer experience by communicating up-to-date information and facilitating bus pass and fare media transactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Communicates schedule and bus route information to customers, including navigating the fixed-route system, on the phone and in-person
• Addresses, troubleshoots, and records customer concerns
• Sells bus passes and fare media
• Processes Lextran-issued identification cards
• Prepares daily deposit and reports of sales
• Maintains a clean and neat workspace, a professional appearance, and an approachable disposition
• Works as a receptionist at the Loudon office as assigned
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to respond to customers in an efficient, accurate manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including phone etiquette
• Ability to interpret maps and bus schedules
• Proficient computer skills to use point-of-sale software, automatic vehicle location software, Microsoft Outlook, and other computer tasks
• Ability maintain confidentiality of company and customer records
• Ability to work in a team environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Well acquainted with the Lexington area
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Customer service experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB

• Frequently communicates with personnel, visitors, and customers on the phone and in person
• Frequently remains in a seated position at a desk
• Frequently uses the computer with fingers and hands
• Frequently works in a well-lit, tempered room
• Occasionally exposed to outside elements
• Occasionally lifts objects weighing up to twenty five (25) pounds
• May be required to stoop, bend, or kneel
