In 1991, brothers Troy and Torrey Lautenbach started a small company in Bellingham, Washington to recycle construction waste. 30 years later, Lautenbach Recycling is one of the region’s premier employers and the largest family-owned recycling company in Washington State. The Position:

We are searching for Customer Service/Scale House Attendant superstar who will be dedicated to our mission of providing an unmatched level of service to our customers. You will be working closely with our customer service team to provide administrative support focused around efficiency, accuracy and timely deliverables. Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Payrate is $18 - $20 per hour, DOE.


In order to ensure your success, we are looking for someone who will excel in the following environment:


  • Our office is fast paced with trucks coming in and phones ringing all day, so being comfortable in a dynamic and ever-changing environment is a must.
  • Ability to easily work with our drivers, the public, dispatch, accounting, yard crews and sales throughout the day.
  • Agility to go between competing priorities with a smile and upbeat attitude is a must as our team works so closely with each other and our customers.
  • Experienced working both in person and over the phone with customers.
  • Past administrative experience and/or experience in the transportation industry, preferred.
  • You will be working with a variety of computer programs so familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and the ability to quickly learn new programs is a must.

The Location:

We are located in Mount Vernon just north of Highway 20 in the beautiful Skagit Valley. The site is a fully operational Construction & Demolition recycling center which has frequent traffic, dust and noise.


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to walk, sit, stand, bend, crawl, reach, climb and/or and stoop inspect incoming loads at the scale. Good vision, depth perception, hand, eye (and foot) coordination, along with quick reaction times, are essential functions for this position. May be required to lift, carry or push/pull supplies, materials, equipment and/or items weighing up to 30 pounds
