Permanent Full Time 35 hpw Contract

Salary €53,945 - €65,427

Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience and will be pro-rated in line with hours worked

Our target impact under the strategy is to expand our provision of customised and supported work opportunities for individuals across Avista. Having completed project work in this area over the last 12 months, Avista is excited to be now in a position to recruit to the permanent position of National Avista Customised and Supported Employment Co-ordinator. The purpose of the role is to build on the work of the project that devised and created a Customised Supported Employment Service framework, and lead out on the implementation of the service wide plan. This includes monitoring its impact and leading and co-ordinating efforts to further increase resources to support the expansion of valued employment opportunities in in the community for individuals.

Applicants should:

  • Hold a recognised 3rd Level qualification in a health/social care division
  • Have completed a recognised management programme and two years experience at management/supervisory level
  • Have at least 5 years experience of working in the area of Intellectual Disability including leading and managing a team, resources and delivering services
  • Have experience of working with people who have intellectual disabilities, dual diagnosis, mental health autism, behaviour of concern and complex needs.
  • Committed to working with families, advocates and MDT members
  • Have significant experience in engaging with and understanding resource needs of employers and business in the community.
  • Have significant experience in leading and supporting change management initiatives and projects
  • Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of Social Role Valorisation Theory and how it can support the development and deliver of best practise customised and supported employment opportunities.
  • Be committed to the principles of New Directions and accessing services and supports in the community.
  • Demonstrate strong networking, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants should possess Level 3 behavioural competencies of Avista’s competency framework.
