Position Highlights

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Career Development is committed to developing a vibrant, engaged, diverse community of faculty. The office provides current and prospective faculty, administrative personnel, department chairs and college leaders with information and resources. The College utilizes over 2,000 faculty — both on-campus and volunteer community physicians and scientists — who provide their skills, expertise and time to train the next generation of physicians.

The data analyst is an essential member of the Office of Faculty Affairs & Career Development (OFAD). This person will be systems-thinker interested in a career in data management and analytics. They will play a vital role in identifying, organizing and reporting faculty data with the objective of turning data into critical information to inform faculty trends across the College. The faculty data ecosystem includes information stored in multiple internal and external systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a team member who is eager to learn and create processes and sub-processes while supporting the mission of the office. This position will primarily be responsible for the maintenance of existing reports, but will have the opportunity to grow and develop as a faculty affairs analyst.

Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting and Data Analytics
  • Assist with the maintenance of Faculty Affairs databases, which may include understanding the data, pulling reports, basic troubleshooting, helping to implement process improvements, maintaining data and following archival record keeping practices.
  • Compile and provide basic analysis of faculty data to respond to strategic plan and LCME accreditation needs, support academic program reviews and make recommendations to office leadership.
  • Help develop and maintain dashboards to provide snapshot of critical faculty and leadership recruitment data.
  • Support the office in data collection and reporting in Excel, Smartsheet and other databases.
  • Work with office leadership to maintain internal and external stakeholder relations to ensure data accuracy.
Other Duties
  • Work with office leadership to document and revise internal and campus-wide policies, SOPs, archiving and distribution for faculty data.
  • Assist with faculty and leadership recruitment data collection via Qualtrics, surveys or other mechanisms and help prepare needed reports or memos.
  • Provide secondary support for candidate sourcing and assist with special office initiatives to optimize workflow.
  • Maintain accuracy and current versions of guidelines and web content.
  • Remain aware of reporting metrics (e.g., AAMC, LCME and diversity annual reports).
  • Serve on committees, work groups or project teams that support the initiatives set by office leadership.
  • Assist with other projects and initiatives, as needed, to ensure effective support of the academic mission of the College.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet or other cloud mangement systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing demands/projects.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required.
