Data Platform Analyst

RTÉ is Ireland's national public-service media organisation. A leader in Irish media, RTÉ provides comprehensive, cost-effective, free-to-air multi-media services to the public in Ireland and audiences internationally. RTÉ now operates a hybrid working policy which applies to this role.

The RTÉ Audience Insight team have been transforming how RTÉ engages with its audience by delivering more of the content they love. We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Specialist to support the delivery of the “Audience First” Strategy.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

It is your opportunity to join the team and make a real impact on our services. While collaborating with teams across the organization, you’ll use data to drive engagement with RTÉ’s product suite.

You will manage the day-to-day administration of the data platform, online user data, segment audience data, serve data to customer-facing systems, enhance user experience, and deliver insights to the business.

Candidates should possess the following:

• Support the end-to-end implementation of a data platform, working collaboratively with external vendors and internal teams
• Design the architecture for the platform to ensure that optimal data flows and processes are in place to link other data sources and systems
• Provide documentation, training and guidance on use of the data platform to a range of stakeholders
• Champion the use of the platform to drive audience growth and engagement
• Optimise the data platform to deliver on, and document, a range of internal use cases
• Provide a roadmap for the product to deliver on changing requirements and new integrations
• Provide ongoing administration and management of the data platform, ensuring that users have access, technical issues are resolved, and data pipelines are maintained
• Support the Data Protection Office to keep relevant data policies up to date and in full compliance with current regulations
• Work with the Insights team to provide analysis on audience composition and behaviour

The ideal candidate should have:

• Previous day to day experience with a Customer Data Platform, Data Management Platform or similar
• A third level qualification
• At least 3 years experience in technology, data analytics, marketing automation or digital transformation
• Experience in data modelling and SQL
• Strong proficiency in office software, especially PowerPoint and Excel
• Excellent influencing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues to a non-technical audience

Desirable

• Experience with ETL processes
• Experience with enterprise web analytics systems such as Piano Analytics, Adobe and Google Analytics 360
• Knowledge of broadcasting and the wider media industry
• Experience of visualization tools, including Microsoft PowerBI or Tableau

This appointment will be made on a 2 year fixed purpose contract.

The position will be offered on the Manager Grade 3 salary scale.
