EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Three years English Language Learners (ELL) program related experience

Bilingual, required

High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY :
Supplemental position that verifies the accuracy of data entry for the Department of Bilingual/ESL Programs in order for the District to meet local, state, and federal policies and mandates.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Enters data into the Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Screen in Skyward, English Learner (EL) compliance data, previous and current school permanent record information including the following: Home Language Surveys; STAAR results; Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS); Exemption History; Immigrant History.
2. Contacts Bilingual campus clerks and EL Points of Contact regarding LEP error reports.
3. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Bilingual/ESL Programs, makes needed corrections to LEP screen.
4. Understands how to collect, appropriately file, and verify all Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) forms in the student LEP folders.
5. Accurately enters, maintains and/or verifies confidential EL student information from LPAC forms into Skyward.
6. Updates and maintains all EL Program information on the NEISD Intranet as directed.
7. Assists campus Bilingual/ESL Coaches, clerks and EL points of contact in how to accurately enter information into the LEP screen.
8. Maintains electronic inventory of all LEP files.
9. Stores records for EL students and dual language participants in Docuware.
10. Serves as compliance assistant for the Department of Bilingual/ESL Programs.
11. Verifies all campus and district level end-of-year assessment data is entered accurately.
12. Provides Oral Language Proficiency Test (State Approved assessments) training to campus coaches, clerks and POCs to be used for identification of potential EL students.
13. Provides support/training to Campus Bilingual/ESL Clerks with Docuware, Skyward and other systems
14. Maintains confidentiality of information.
15. Reports to work on time every day.
16. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Knowledge of personal computer programs (Windows, Microsoft Word, Etc.)
  • Ability to type minimum 60 words per minute
  • Ability to create spreadsheets
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Valid Texas Drivers License with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District
