Hiring/Budgeted Salary or Hourly Range: $24.81 - $26.00/hr. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonable expects to pay for this position is $25.75/hr.
Full Salary Range: $24.81 - $39.85/hr. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University.
Work Location: South Hall 5607A
Working Days/Hours: M-F; 8am-5pm

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related area or equivalent experience and/or training.
- 1-3 years of work experience in related area.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and diplomacy.
- Ability to interpret policies and provide guidance on them.
- Strong computer skills including but not limited to: Google Suite, Zoom, MS Office including Word and Excel.

Job Functions/Percentage of Time/Duties
- 40% Student Services - In coordination with Data Science Director and Business Officer, assists in developing and preparing the program curriculum plan for each academic year. Anticipates, coordinates and resolves faculty teaching constraints, room problems, major and teaching conflicts. Processes new course approvals through the Master Course Approval system. Addresses all undergraduate Data Science student employment matters. Ensures compliance with employment limitations and/or restrictions due to student employee's visa status. Assists with monitoring graduate student employment. Monitors spending of salary charges including position changes, funding source changes, and shifts in payroll title for for Teaching Assistant (TA, reader and tutor positions). Processes and charges for tuition and fee payments via GradPoint, ensuring charges remain within funding received from Block Grant, Temporary sub-0 and/or the Control Point and Gift Funds. -Works with Business Officer to prepare the annual temporary Sub-0 budget. Provides Business Officer with data regarding curriculum, student enrollment, and salary information to complete report.
- 40% Undergraduate Program Coordination - Provides advising to new and prospective undergraduates preparing to enroll in DataScience courses on program considerations, program requirements, enrollment procedures, academic policies and university and program rules and regulations. Is responsible for preparing and updating the quarterly Schedule of Classes using AdAstra. Provides enrollment projections, coordinates scheduling with other departments and implements all scheduling decisions including obtaining classrooms. Works closely with the University Registrar's office for all room scheduling. Responsible for ensuring approval codes are received and distributed according to policy by verifying prerequisites have been met. Creates and manages course waitlists when requested by instructors. Orders textbooks and desk copies for courses, prepares for posting various schedules and notices concerning courses.Serves as the program eGrades coordinator. Responsible for ensuring instructors have access to the online grading system (eGrades), grades are submitted on time, and the process for changing grades is followed. Uses Student Access and Retrieval System (STAR) system to access and/or input information regarding student, course, or instructor information. Must be cognizant of the confidentiality of information. Advises students who seek answers to questions about the Data Science program.
- 10% Academic Personnel Coordination - Responsible for assisting with processing employment transactions for ladder faculty and non-senate teaching titles using UCPath. Reviews and evaluates proposed UC, campus, and collective bargaining unit changes to academic policies providing Director and Business Officer with potential implementation impact on departmental procedure. Using knowledge of collective bargaining agreements governing Unit 18 employees, work-load credits, etc., is responsible for assisting with all Unit 18 lecturer appointments.Prepares draft appointment letters for the Director's review.
- 10% Program Coordination - Responsible for independently planning and implementing program colloquiums and special events. Manages all logistics including developing budgets for events, timelines, coordinating catering, making hotel reservations, room reservations, parking etc. Maintains Data Science Initiative sections of the website.
