An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Day Care Centre Manager to join our team in Allenwood Day Care Centre. The post holder will have responsibility for leading and managing the delivery and development of a community-based day care service in conjunction with the SVP members and volunteers.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • A third level qualification at Level 7 NQF or Higher in one or more of the following disciplines - Social Care, Social Studies, Community Studies, Community Development, Nursing, or other relevant discipline, with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience working in a leadership/management role in services for older persons
  • Experience in a leadership/management role in services for older persons for a minimum of 6 years
  • Experience working directly with older persons or this age group in general
  • Experience of programme development
  • Experience of programme or group coordination focusing on the personal and/or educational and/or emotional and social development of the individual
  • Experience of working in the community/ voluntary sector is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and administration skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships including the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to empathise with and treat clients, relatives and colleagues with dignity and respect
  • Ability to foster a sense of independence for all clients.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • Ability to prioritise work
  • Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Initiative and innovation, identifying areas for improvement, implementing and managing change
