Li'l Sparks Academy is a religious exempt Daycare in Roanoke, VA. Our goal is to provide caring and compassionate care for your children! Infants-5 yrs old classes.

Seeking a fun and energetic Daycare Teacher for a full-time position with our organization. The ideal candidate for this position has experience working with children aged 0 – 5 years old, can teach and engage the children to work towards self-sufficiency and independence, and can work effectively in a team environment. We are hiring for infants, toddlers, two, three, four/five classroom teachers, and assistants.

Responsibilities:

• Handle multiple assignments or projects at once.
• Handle children with many different personalities.
• Handle children that come from different home environments.
• Manage a room full of children while keeping them safe and happy.
• Be available to all children when they are upset or angry.
• Create a fun environment for all children to maximize their social and developmental skills.
• Know how to read and write; sing songs, do math, handle money, and do crafts.
• Must agree to handbook requirements and agree with the church bylaws
• Effective communicator with colleagues and parents.
• Understand the safety plan and implement it in the classroom
• Be creative in class design, lessons, and activities.
• Create a caring environment for children with an emphasis on their well-being both emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
• Pass Background and FBI check. Handprint is mandatory. Meet state standards as provided for by the Department of Education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

• Roanoke, VA 24012: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
• childcare or teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
• Driver's License (Preferred)
