Job Description

The Dentist is accountable for providing and managing all activities in relations to patients dental care. Provides clinical dental services for IWS patients.

Essential Functions

TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY. THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND/OR ABILITY REQUIRED. • Examines, evaluates, treats and/or recommends treatment as established by the American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Guidelines, and IWS Dental Clinic protocols
• Performs all assigned procedures promptly for designated clinic sessions
• Counsels’ parents and children on preventive dentistry
• Responsible for accurate and complete dental records in accordance with IWS Quality Assurance protocols, as well as assuring copies of manual paperwork are forwarded to HIM for proper scanning into EMR

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in board and management meetings and annual planning processes to support clinics objectives and implementation of the strategic plan;
• Participates in community education programs.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Board Certified Pediatric Dentist
• DDS State of Illinois
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience required
• Excellent communication skills
• Clinical and Administrative skills

Expected Hours of Work

Clinic hours including but not limited to 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Hours may vary

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises the Dental department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
