General Statement of Duties:
The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for one or more of the following functions performed within the Deposit Operations department:
- Daily processing and proof of deposits
- Account research
- Review all Inclearing Items (Pay/Return)
- Review Remote Deposit Payments/Deposits
- Daily processing of NGS
- Daily processing and proof of inclearing and/ Positive Pay items
- Daily processing and proof
- Foreign collections
- Assist with research of checks and deposit tickets
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process and proves all inclearing items on a daily basis. Prepares and processes appropriate general ledger entries. Ensures that the Items in Process and general ledger(s) are in proof.
- Prepares and processes appropriate general ledger entries.
- Prepares the daily Deposit Operations Department master proof at the end of each day and ensures that all work is in balance. Researches and resolves any differences that occur. Prepares and proves the department’s BCX check deposit. Electronically capture (BCX) daily work required to be scanned on a daily basis.
- Verifies customer signatures on inclearing items greater than or equal to $4,500.00. Maintains the Deposit Operations specimen signature card file for this purpose.
- Collects foreign checks from branches and sends items for collection. Maintains tracking for collection items and follow ups until credit is received.
- Send Savings Bonds to Fidelity for collection and tracks bonds for collection until credit is received.
- Assists branch personnel and customers with inquires and/or problems. Researches, resolves and responds to same.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures. Perform additional accountabilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 0-2 years banking experience in related areas
- General knowledge of banking practices and procedures
- Miser experience preferred
- PC proficiency, particularly word processing and spreadsheet applications (Word, and/or Excel)
- Good oral and written communication skills
