Role: Telecom Designer

Location: Long Beach, CA/Hybrid

Permanent / Full-Time

We’re looking for someone to work within the AutoCAD Designer wit Building/Construction exp not outside!!

Requirements & Qualifications;

The successful candidate will be expected to plan, design and manage the installation of IT/Telecom infrastructure and communications cabling projects that include: server rooms, BDF/IDF rooms, outside plant cabling, horizontal cabling, wireless networking, and low voltage systems (paging, emergency phones, clock systems). Responsible for the design and implementation of telecommunications systems, including:

• Technical requirements analysis, solutions recommendations, construction administration/project management

• Performs duties as Telecom Consultant, including managing projects involving design and installation

• Evaluates new customer requirements and develop scope of work documents with pricing estimates

• Designs Telecom systems to meet client requirements

• Manages and oversees the low voltage contractors and implementation of systems to meet client expectations

The following are the requirements and qualifications expected from the applicant:

• Detailed knowledge of Telecom standards, codes, and applications currently deployed on education, healthcare, and corporate projects

• Knowledge of networking communications technologies/topologies/infrastructure

• Understanding of complex systems integration

• Ability to develop detailed engineering design documents, including drawings, specifications, and master plan-level reports

• Ability to develop detailed construction estimates and budgets

• Ability to work and coordinate design requirements in a multi-team environment, including architects and other engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, etc.)

• Ability to monitor the project’s construction phase, working with contractors and integrators on adequately installing and implementing the design

• Ability to work independently while handling multiple projects with changing priorities and deadlines

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of managers and subject matter experts

• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills

Experience;

The position requires previous engineering design experience with telecommunication systems for building and campus facilities. The following skills are required when applying for this position:

• Construction documents, including drawings and CSI format specifications

• Low voltage engineering design & calculations

• Good verbal communication skills

• Minimum 5 years of technical and project management experience involving telecommunication requirements, design, and implementation

• Experience managing project design and construction oversight

• Experience in commercial and educational facilities.

• RCDD Certification.

Education;

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent experience/technical degree required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to $140,000.00 per year
