projects'detailer'sPatriot Erectors LLC. is growing. Therefore, we seek a motivated Structural Steel Detailing Manager to join our dedicated team.

The right candidate for this position is someone with extensive experience in steel Structures that will support our projects. This person will constantly be in the model doing reviews, ensuring detailers follow procedures, customer standards, and the design, and doing things the most efficiently. This person will be tasked with final reviews of submittal packages to ensure quality. They will also be responsible for creating project-specific settings or components to improve the efficiency and accuracy of a project. This person will also be tasked with doing complex modeling and detailing tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare for and attend weekly update meetings with Detailing Department Manager to review their assigned projects' detailing/approval status.
• Expedite the 3rd party detailers on the turnaround of approved drawing submittals into shop submittals for fabrication.
• Review weekly detailer model submissions as well as drawings submitted by the detailer for approval to ensure that the detailer’s submittals conform to Building Codes and Patriot's shop and field requirements, as well as look for other items that could lead to erectability issues if fabricated as currently modeled/detailed.
• Report any design changes affecting the project scope to the Project Manager through a review of RFI responses, submittal returns, and changes made to contract drawings that could be incorporated into a change order to the customer.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial structural and miscellaneous hot-rolled steel detailing; Project management experience is a plus.
• Experience with Tekla® or SDS/2(3-D BIM) software.
• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
• Extensive knowledge of the AISC Code of standard practice, OSHA safety requirements, and miscellaneous and architectural steel building code standards
• Knowledge of the fundamentals behind connection design
• Experience with model and drawing checking, including using software such as Bluebeam or Adobe Professional to do digital drawing checking.
• Self-motivated and able to complete multiple tasks with minimal guidance.
• Deadline-driven with an attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• AISC Manual of Steel Construction is needed to create conforming shop and erection drawings.
• Construction codes and practices.
• Practical application of BIM technology and interoperability of Trimble software.
• Tekla Structures, Tekla EPM, and Trimble Connect software is a plus.
