- $65,000 annually
Description
The Bridge is seeking a Development Director who reports to the CEO and is of the senior management team. The Development Director plans, coordinates, and acts as the primary contact for agency fundraising activities and is responsible for major gifts, planned giving, special projects/events, the annual fund, and capital campaigns. Their key role is cultivating new, current, and former donors to enhance contributions and financial support through grants and sponsorships. The Development Director works closely with the CEO and the Board of Directors in all development and fundraising endeavors to meet the annual operating expenses to ensure the agency fulfills its mission.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Create and implement annual development plan and strategy to meet agency operating expenses through annual campaign, fundraising, and in-kind donations.
2. Supervise the program’s managers to ensure the growth and retention of volunteer and donor engagement through targeted activities, communications, fundraising events, donations, and funding inquiries.
3. Collect, organize, and maintain a complete and accurate database record of donors and funding received.
4. Actively pursues and manages corporate and individual leads and works with the agency’s grant writers to identify and seek grant funding.
5. Function as liaison with the board of directors by communicating agency's fund development strategic plan and creating funding targets for board of directors.
6. Submit updated information on fundraising efforts and online giving to the Communications Director to be included on agency website and social media platforms.
7. Act as an agency spokesperson, as requested, by presenting and attending events at local civic organizations, businesses, corporations and, chambers of commerce.
8. Train and mentor development staff and leadership on fundraising goals, networking, and philanthropy.
9. Contribute and produce the annual giving campaign and the annual newsletter/report with the Communications Director.
10. Participate in ongoing development education, seminars, and conferences to further the agency’s fundraising potential.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Nonprofit Administration, or a similar field, OR
- A minimum of five years of experience in corporate/nonprofit fundraising and development.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred experience in management, leadership, or supervision of staff.
Other Requirements
- Must pass criminal background investigation check
- Must pass drug screen
- Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
- Must provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record
- Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
