We are looking for a mission driven Development Associate to join our team! Under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Development Director, the Development Associate is responsible for preparing grants proposals, completing funding reports, engaging relevant staff in developing program grants, and aiding in foundation/donor communication. They are also responsible for a variety of administrative, logistical, and customer service tasks that support the daily functions of the Development Department. The ideal candidate will carry out job duties with attention to detail, respect for sensitive information and confidentiality, and have an ability to complete tasks with a high level of independence.
This is a full-time position located at the satellite Administrative office (42nd & Center). The schedule will be 40 hours per week; generally, Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, English, Journalism, Sociology or related field required.
2. Minimum of 2 years prior work experience that includes grant research, proposal preparation, writing and reports. An increasing progression of responsibilities required. Work experience in non-profit field preferred.
3. Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel and other databases required. Experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
4. Proficiency (both verbal and written) in English required; proficiency (both verbal and written) in Spanish preferred.
5. Outstanding ability to communicate, both orally and in writing.
6. Demonstrated time management, organizational and record-keeping skills, with a high attention to detail.
7. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple projects and consistently meeting deadlines.
8. Demonstrated comfort and flexibility with a rapidly changing work environment.
9. Demonstrated commitment to OneWorld’s mission, vision and values.
10. Ability and willingness to travel to specified locations for work purposes, especially during peak times. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance required.
11. Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
