Position Summary
The Diabetes Educator is responsible for providing education and support to patients with type 2 diabetes who are enrolled in Fractyl Health's clinical trials. The primary goal of the role is to improve patient understanding of the clinical trial process, patient journey, and the importance of adherence to study protocols. This position requires experience in diabetes management and clinical research.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to ensure participants understand the purpose and process of the clinical trial, including informed consent, visit schedule, and post procedure follow up.
- Collaborate with clinical trial team members to ensure proper patient enrollment and retention throughout the clinical trial.
- Serve as a resource for patients with diabetes by providing information and support related to their condition, including medication management, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle assisting patients throughout the clinical trial.
- and presentations related to diabetes and clinical research.
- Assist in the development and implementation of study protocols related to diabetes management.
- Participate in relevant professional development activities to stay up-to-date with new diabetes treatment options and clinical research findings.
- Perform all activities in compliance with applicable regulations, Fractyl's policies and guidelines, including, but not limited to, timely documentation of activities and maintaining all required applicable training.
- Bring a "can do" spirit to work and deliver on other responsibilities as assigned.
Education or Certification Requirements
- Understanding of clinical research processes and regulations (GCP training required)
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification preferred.
Professional Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with patients with diabetes and/or clinical trial participants.
- Experience with medical writing or developing educational materials.
- Applicable experience in biotech, pharmaceutical and/or medical device industries required.
- Prior vocational experience in related fields a plus (i.e. Co-Ops, Internships, Fellowships, etc.).

Additional Position Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMRs) and data management systems.
- Travel from time to time as needed and assigned.
