Job description

NEW STARTING WAGE! We are looking for thoughtful & detail-oriented dietary aides that work well in a team-based environment. Our kitchen prepares food for all residents in a long-term care facility. Current open positions are part-time 3:30pm-7:30pm for weekends and evenings. People of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to apply; the timing of available shifts makes this role a great fit for students, as well. On-the-job training is available. Weekend shifts receive differential pay.

Position Responsibilities

-Simple food preparation, tray line duties, food portioning, etc.

-Operation of dish-washing machine; washing of pots, pans, & other kitchen equipment

-Delivers food trucks & supplies to resident units

-Follows assigned cleaning schedule, including sweeping/mopping of floors & transport of dirty dining linens to facility laundry

-Assists with dining room service

-Keeps work area clean according to sanitation regulations & facility policy

-Other relevant duties as assigned

Requirements

-Ability to read & write in English

-Previous kitchen experience desirable, but not required

-Dependability, ability to work in a team-based environment

-Interest in working with elderly and rehabilitation residents

-Ability to stand/walk most of day, to lift & carry food/kitchen equipment up to 50 lbs, to push a large food truck, and to be exposed to many different temperatures throughout the day

-Time management skills, adherence to safety policies, & maintenance of all resident/patient confidentiality
