The Opportunity

Arup Ireland are seeking a talented student to join our Dublin team. We look for students who are ready to jump into the professional world; diverse individuals with inquisitive minds and a desire to challenge. You will work alongside skilled professionals and contribute to the success of real projects.

You will also enjoy learning sessions with technical experts within your team, working on local projects and all kinds of social events. You will be working with a team of Geospatial and Data specialists from our Dublin, Amsterdam, and Berlin offices, in the Centre for Geospatial & Data Insights (Europe), with support from the wider Advanced Digital Engineering team.

Your responsibilities:

• Work with a range of Geospatial technologies to capture, process, analyse, and visualise data.
• Run automated systems and processes.
• Deliver Geospatial project tasks on time e.g., pdf maps, webmaps, methodologies/workflows, data management solutions.
• Deliver dynamic, innovative solutions to internal and external clients by thinking both logically and creatively e.g., dashboards, Storymaps, interactive webmaps/apps.
• Work with staff from other disciplines and demonstrate the value of good Geospatial standards and practices.

We seek the following qualifications, attributes and skills:

Be currently studying for a relevant bachelor’s degree level or be currently undertaking a post-graduate level qualification in a relevant discipline, including, but not limited to:

• Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing
• Geo-computation
• Geographic Information Science
• Geospatial Surveying
• Geospatial Data Analysis
• Geography and Geosystems
• Geomatic Engineering and GIS
• Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation

Preferred Experience and Knowledge:

• Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcGIS Map version 10.3+
• Knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop extensions (Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst)
• Knowledge of spatial ETL applications, specifically FME, for data conversions
• Experience preparing map documents
• Data management and standards knowledge
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
