Responsible for supporting the Service Line’s Medical Director in financial, administrative, operations and performance management. The Service Line Administrator will lead strategic planning, program development, recruitment and retention, resource distribution and Service Line integration.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor of Science degree
EXPERIENCE:
1. 8 years clinical experience
2. 5 years administrative experience

1. Master’s degree preferred

1. Establish a Strategic Plan for the Service Line in consultation with the Medical Director, the WVUHC Chief Medical Officer and the Service Line Council
2. Define the resources required to implement the strategic plan and work with leaders across WVU & WVUHC to determine how the needed resources will be provided.
3. Oversees the management and development of Service Line related facilities.
4. Create an Annual Operating Plan and define the resources required to execute the plan. Understands financial outcomes to help guide reinvestment into the service line.
5. Assists in developing and managing the capital and operating budgets for the Service Line and its defined interests, while monitoring budgetary compliance for the Service Line’s activities.
6. Directly manage the operations and financial management of dedicated clinical units with the support of the Service Line Medical Director
7. Plan, organize, implement and evaluate the delivery of patient care by empowering staff, coordinating activities between operating departments and by promoting patient satisfaction.
8. Oversees the Quality and Performance Improvement functions.
9. Select, hire, manage and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of employees and facilitate the professional development of all staff to ensure clinical practice competence. Responsible for the oversight of the Human Resources function.
10. Establish annual and long-term service line quality, service, and financial goals
11. Co-Chair the Service Line Operating Committee and support the Service Line Council with the Service Line Medical Director
12. Maintains collaborative working relations with key physician and hospital leaders throughout s WVUH, University Health Associates (UHA) and West Virginia University’s School of Medicine.
13. Leads in the development and implementation of Outreach and Marketing strategies, including, referral relations, community outreach, CME offerings, advertising programs etc.
14. Assists in recruitment of physicians and staff.
15. Supports clinical research within WVUH and School of Medicine in support of faculty, resident and patient care interests. Facilitates publication of clinical research.
16. Represents Service Line, WVUH, UHA and SOM within the hospital and community through presentation and education activities.
