GENERAL SUMMARY: This position reports to the Corporate Senior Director of Environmental Services. The Director will be responsible for administrative leadership of Environmental Services (EVS) at Beaumont Troy and Grosse Pointe Campuses or Beaumont Dearborn Hospital. (As Director of Patient Transportation, will report to Hospital designated Administrative Leader). The Director ensures cost effective, high quality operations of the department. The Director ensures compliance with local, State, and Federal regulation requirements and provides expertise/consultative services relative to a variety of technical issues.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Environmental and transportation services
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Plans, directs, organizes, coordinates, and supervises the operations and administrative functions relating EVS and Patient Transportation Services.
- Develops and administers policies, procedures, and departmental goals and objectives related to EVS and Patient Transportation Services.
- Participates in the development of the Environmental Services and Transportation Services budgets and controls the budget for the departments.
- Provides key support and input to a variety of departments (i.e., Facilities, Infection Control, Human Resources, Service Excellence) in the establishment of hospital policies and practices to ensure consistency with the operations, service and patient and family centered care objectives.
- Coordinates and assists in department quality assurance and training programs.
- Identifies and initiates activities and behaviors that further departmental and organizational goals in support of the Beaumont standards for service and patient and family centered care (PFCC).
- Participates and supports system-wide activities that impact the EVS and Patient Transportation department or other areas supported.
- Participates in vendor selection for equipment and/or supplies in partnership with supply chain as required.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of Environmental Services Leadership experience.
- Knowledge and experience in Healthcare preferred. Knowledge of Patient Transportation operations in an acute care/non- acute care setting as it relates to work standards, job descriptions, policies and procedures, workload, quality control, budgeting, and department operations preferred.
- Experience in process improvement preferred.
