Nature of Work

The Director of Assessment is the administrator of the Office of Assessment and has primary responsibility for assuring that the College assessment program is of the highest possible quality. The director is responsible for overall planning, budgeting, and organizing campus-wide assessment. The director serves as institutional liaison for the Higher Learning Commission Accreditation process. This Director is directly responsible for institutional assessment, research, reporting, and supporting the accreditation process. Will provide assistance to academic and nonacademic units in the development and assessment of program outcomes, and provide relevant, timely and accurate information to the administration and faculty in support of the program review, planning, budgeting and decision-making process at the College. Will facilitate campus-wide trainings, workshops, and assessment clinics for continuous improvement in institutional quality and institutional effectiveness, and provide leadership for the collection, analysis, and reporting for a variety of internal and external constituencies, including IPEDS and Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees. The Director will be the HLC Accreditation Liaison under the direction of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. This position is exempt with regard to FLSA overtime provisions. This position is covered by the NSCPA negotiated agreement.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

This position requires a Master’s degree in Educational Research, Instructional and/or Curriculum Design, Assessment, Institutional Effectiveness or related field. Three to five years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research designs, statistical analysis, reporting, and/or regional/professional accreditation required. Must possess excellent computer skills and data analysis software knowledge in programs such as SAS, Excel, and Access. Doctorate degree preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft student information system preferred.
