Job description
Leads a department of IT application programmers, IT application engineers and IT Consultants for identifying, delivering, integrating, configuring, maintaining, training and supporting the campus’ business productivity applications. Leads the implementation of strategic application and cloud initiatives for priorities and objectives identified in the Information Services & Technology (IS&T) Strategic Plan. Prepares campus for cloud ERP transition. Builds a Dev Ops team and leads the team towards modern application development practices. Directs and evaluates large application projects and programs. Responsible for successful completion of major strategic initiatives and projects. Manages internal and external resources to achieve strategic goals. Presents project proposals to university stakeholders. Facilitates dialogue throughout the evaluation and implementation process. Develops and maintains positive and productive relationships and partnerships with individuals both internal and external. Manages assigned personnel. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Management Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.
- Seven (7) years project management experience.
- Five (5) years or more of progressive experience in Information Technology management position
- One (1) year of strategic planning experience in an IT environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferably in Information Systems, MBA or relevant advanced degree
- Leadership experience in Higher Education
- Progressive leadership experience in identifying and implementing enterprise application solutions
- Five years of IT Project Management.
- PMP Certification

- Skilled in project management, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence and persuasion. Ability to function as systems thinker and be solution minded with a global perspective.
- Experience organizing, planning, and executing large scale projects from idea through to implementation. Combination of demonstrated skills in end-user service management, technology management, process engineering, customer centric thinking, and executive communication.
- Ability to manage ambiguity. Demonstrated passion, idealism, positive attitude, mission driven and self-directed.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, “Customer Focus” attitude, and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication skills, the ability to make effective presentations, have strong public speaking skills, develop and drive change and effectively communicate change

- Demonstrated leadership and management skills to manage a diverse group of professionals within a team environment.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and respond to changing priorities and circumstances.
- Ability to work in cooperation with other team members to achieve the Cleveland State University (CSU) goals and objectives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Strong collaboration, consultative, and teambuilding skills to work effectively with faculty, staff, and senior administrators to develop and implement appropriate uses of technology to solve business problems.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to leverage technology to achieve the most effective and efficient solutions to support teaching, student learning and business processes.
- Ability to understand complex challenges and lead teams of technologists to deploy appropriate technological solutions that meet campus vision and mission.

- Skills in managing organizational contracts and budgets and tracking ongoing expenses with budget
- Ability to lead in a broad range of technology within a complex enterprise computing environment or a university environment
- Skilled in hiring, coaching and developing a technical and customer service team.
