The Director, Consumer Engagement & Culture will report to the VP, Global Creative - Brands & Categories. This new hire will work at McCormick's global headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD and will be eligible to participate in McCormick's hybrid work program (50% onsite and 50% remote per month).

Position Overview
Director, Consumer Engagement & Culture leads the social media, consumer affairs and public relations organizations to drive break-through and integrated consumer activations for our brands across NA Consumer and Flavor Solutions.
This role will work cross-functionally with a variety of teams, such as business, campaign, media and digital teams to devise and execute brand campaign amplifications leveraging social media channels and PR tactics.

Key Responsibilities
Brand Campaign Amplification, Earned Media & Consumer Engagement: Lead an internal team of social media and public relations managers, to both amplify paid media campaigns and to deliver significant earned media impressions through integrated campaigns and consumer communication. Delivers a compelling relevant brand story while driving brand engagement and building preference for McCormick brands. Delivers improvements for paid media creative engagement metrics in social channels and well as growth in annual earned media (social and public relations) strategies and plans. Negotiates and manages PR agencies, as well as other external vendors.
Consumer, Culture & Gen Z thought leadership: Responsible for providing thought leadership in the areas of social media, digital trends and consumer culture. Leverages cultural moments to make our brands relevant for the consumer target of each brand. Identifies new social and digital platforms to engage our consumers. Responsible for providing thought leadership about the Gen Z consumer and how to make our brands more relevant to them. Uses social media listening to mine insights and launch creative ideas, digital experiences and improve the relevancy of our brands.
Consumer Affairs & Reputation Management: Responsible for leading a best-in-class McCormick two-way communication channels through the consumer affairs function. Develops and oversees process for integrating consumer affairs into commercial consumer activity and provides guidance on modern technology and processes to drive efficient and effective results. Analyzes and optimizes activity to ensure results are driving brand loyalty and continued improvement. Monitors and elevates brand reputation concerns and serves as a critical leader in the event of reputation management crisis.
Global Social Media Consult: Acts as an internal consult for social media content best practices. Collaborate with marketing technology, creative campaign, digital and content production to systematize social media assets, key trends, and commercial opportunities in real time and with speed. Lead the company in global social media acceleration and sharing best practices accounting for regional nuance
Cross Functional Team Leadership: Serve as a global thought leader and cross functional partner to key stakeholders, establishing trust and delivering results. Responsible for leading a cross functional team and approving or elevating cross functional team projects and recommendations. Set OGSMs for team and align to work plans to deliver against these.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
7+ years of CPG retail or relevant leadership experience leading social media, PR, or digital teams of 10+ team members
5-7 years growing and managing high performing teams and agency partners
Strong analytical and project leadership experience with ability to manage multiple projects; Ability to interpret data and develop strategies
Sound understanding of the digital marketing landscape with an emphasis on social media and leveraging digital insights and activations to drive growth.
Demonstrated significant and relevant skills and results in consumer marketing which produced best in class transformational go-to-market strategies.
Budget management and negotiation with external agencies and vendors
Inspirational thought leader of direct and cross functional team with collaborative approach.
Create a climate of engagement and productivity by empowering others and encouraging innovation.
Ability to set a bold vision for growth and establish strategies and plans to achieve goals.
Proven ability to innovate and influence a complex business.
