Description


The Director, Digital Solutions leads and executes the growth strategy for NSF’s suite of digital solutions, such as NSF’s TraQtion, including the development, launch and commercialization of new services across our focus end markets. This is an enterprise-wide leadership position focused on the go-to-market strategy and execution (value proposition, sales, marketing, pricing) for selling largely subscription-based Software as a Service (SaaS) and embedded into our clients as a differentiated value-added service. This role oversees NSF’s existing digital solution portfolio as well as constructs the vision for the future portfolio. This includes evaluating additional modules and future acquisitions, partnerships and/or licensing. This position will lead a small team of team members partnering closely with the IT function and across all NSF business units and enabling functions to drive success.

Key Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads the development and implementation of NSF’s Digital Solutions strategy, with the goal of creating a scalable, rapidly growing and wildly profitable pool of digital revenue streams for the enterprise, which complement our traditional testing, inspection, certification and consulting offerings.
  • Develops product roadmap and innovation pipeline in alignment with IT and marketing teams and drives through successful commercial outcomes.
  • Ensures financial goals, operational goals, growth strategies are achieved and aligned with customer expectations and the NSF strategy, mission, and values.
  • Partners closely across NSF business units understanding client needs and opportunities for growth related to digital solutions.
  • Ensures standard operating procedures are implemented, partnering with the division and functions to ensure systems, tools, and processes achieve operational excellence.
  • Ensures successful implementation of digital solution initiatives including organizational changes, integration of acquisitions, innovation programs, and implementation of new technologies.
  • Conducts business reviews to understand progress toward Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and timelines, mitigates risk, and ensures achievement of business and financial metrics. Reports on division’s performance.
  • Develops a culture of engaged, high-performing and accountable talent to support the digital solutions organization. Ensures teams are empowered to meet and exceed goals through performance management, leadership development, and business acumen. Attracts and retains the best talent through effective recruiting, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Leads by example by exhibiting the NSF values. Serves as a strong motivator and leader for team members, inspiring talent to achieve higher levels of performance. Maintains positive team-oriented operations that support the NSF positive culture vision.
  • Establishes and maintains critical relationships with internal and external stakeholders including customers, employees, communities, governments, vendors and partners, and others as required to achieve global strategies and objectives. Ensures superior customer care and achievement of expectations and needs. Communicates throughout the organization in a timely manner with leaders, team members, customers and partners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field
  • Strong track record of leadership and business growth in the tech industry relating to software solutions and services (SaaS)
  • Relevant experience in the testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) sector and/or in relevant Food, Water and/or Health Sciences markets highly preferred
  • Experience developing and implementing short and long-term business strategies
  • Demonstrated experience leading a global program or operation, including the ability to identify market trends, acquisition targets, and innovative services
  • Demonstrated experience in managing P&L including allocating resources and managing expenses to achieve or exceed revenue and profit targets
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships, understand customer needs and deliver customer-centric solutions aligned with the mission and goals
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, including selecting and developing talent, building trust, coaching team members, and managing performance resulting in high performing teams
  • Preferably based in one of NSF’s North American or European hub locations, including Ann Arbor Michigan, Guelph Ontario, Brussels Belgium or Oxford UK. Locations in Asia Pacific or Latin America may also be considered.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver organizational messages using various communication modes for transparency and clarity of messages with teams in a consistent and timely manner
