Reporting to the VP - Global Operations Platform, the Director - IT Business Systems, Records and Data Management is a key thought leader and delivery leader focused on enabling, optimizing and automating end to end operations and fulfillment at Iron Mountain for the Records and Data Management businesses globally. We are seeking a leader to balance the execution of critical enhancements on existing systems to support growth and optimization of RM & DM operations as well as creating a roadmap to modernize and standardize globally around the operations platform. This leader and his team will partner closely with the business to understand their needs and goals as well as platform leads to define, plan and execute. The leader and their team will build strategic roadmaps focused on business capabilities, tech modernization, application migration and focus the delivery organization to enable value for the business.
Iron Mountain provides world class information management across physical and digital records as well as unique assets. Iron Mountain has also grown organically and through mergers and acquisitions to over 55 countries globally. Managing assets across the lifecycle and fulfilling services for our customers require key capabilities: Customer Portal, Order Management, Warehouse Management, Transportation Management, operational workflow execution and analytics. These capabilities are today implemented across multiple systems across both business lines as well as across regions/countries. This leader will ensure strategy, definition on a converged modern platform is defined as well as create an overall roadmap for building the platforms and the priority for implementation and rollout.
This person and their team will also ensure the definition and priority of strategic business objectives and develop long term technology roadmaps that provide business value quarter over quarter. This includes the new platform buildout as well as maintaining the existing platforms that are the backbone of the company’s operations. Working with stakeholders across the company, this leader will manage a focused intake process for demand on the platform balancing business capabilities and technical advancement. The leader will also prioritize capabilities with input from stakeholders focused on business value enabled by the rollout of our enterprise platforms.
Candidate will be responsible for leading a team of product owners, scrum masters and RTEs that enable the delivery of capabilities in an agile environment. They will also be expected to be a key thought leader that understands market trends and capabilities to spur ongoing improvements on the platform. Candidate will possess the necessary balance of strategic vision coupled with hands-on leadership when needed. Candidate should be an outstanding communicator capable of describing the business impact and cost justification of initiatives as well as the transformational potential of emerging technologies. This includes the building of business cases and strong financial acumen. Must possess executive presence, communication, and senior-level influencing skills.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall global operations platform roadmap for Records & Data Management business lines.
- Manages effective stakeholder engagement across all levels. This includes the ultimate users of the platform, benefactors, executives and champions.
- Defines, aligns and evolves the platform strategy and vision
- Ensures ongoing demand process from small to strategic asks for the global stakeholders. Facilitates prioritization across stakeholder groups.
- A talent multiplier who enables his team to drive focus and increase velocity
- Provides team leadership to include motivating and managing performance, creating a culture of development for success.
- Understands and communicates the value being delivered by the platform. Maintains and communicates overall TCO of the platform as well as the impact of the delivery to the RM & DM businesses
- Ensures successful delivery of commitments and ongoing communication of business delivery with stakeholders
- Encourages creativity and challenge traditional thinking to solve business problems
- Focuses on ensuring the platform and solutions can deliver global standard capabilities
- Keeps abreast of industry trends through benchmarking, participation in professional associations, etc. in order to lead strategic business direction of the department
Required Skills
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Data Science or related field or equivalent experience
- 10+ years’ experience as a technology professional with 5+ years of leadership experience
- Experience with operations and fulfillment technology and / or supply chain subject matter
- Ability to understand business problems and bridge with technology capabilities
- Ability to look across the technology landscape and understand the structure and relationships other applications have to enable an effective data interchange and data ingestion
- Experience with Agile teams and delivery. Experience as a product owner across multiple scrum teams or product owner at a scrum of scrums level.
- Strong, proven problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly analyze the most expedient method to recover business operations
- Must be committed to a culture of continuous improvement
- Exceptional customer service skills, in addition to extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with users, executives and senior leaders at all levels
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
- Strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams with competing priorities.

- Ability to work in a fast paced, high tech environment juggling multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
