How you make a difference in this role:

The Division of People Operations has an immediate opportunity for a Director of Leadership and Organization Development (L&OD), reporting to the Director of Talent is four direct reports with responsibilities for Talent Management functions, including Organization Development, Leadership Learning and Professional Development. This team connects and collaborates fully with the DHS Human Resources team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as internal Organizational Development consultant, providing education, counsel, and coaching to management and staff on strategic and operational opportunities for team and individual planning and development to achieve Agency goals and objectives
  • Leads and coordinate the research, planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of the integrated Talent Management, Leadership and OD Strategy as well as resulting outcomes of the L&OD team.
  • Drives Leadership Development, Assessments, Coaching, organizational transformation, and change management through relevant tools
  • Ongoing coaching and development of team in organizational development strategy/ advanced facilitation and consulting, OD process responsibilities, and relevant team
  • Master's degree and/or related certification preferred
  • 5-7 years of full-time professional work or consultancy in Organization Development required; familiarity with key
  • OD tools and processes. Strong adult learning knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult facilitation and learning management experience in a corporate or public sector environment is highly desired
  • Demonstrated knowledge, execution, and experience requiring strong strategic and critical thinking skills to support leadership and Human Capital decision-making and team coaching and development
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and experience in dealing with diverse populations in a variety of situation, including a fast-paced, changing, and agile environment
  • Self-starter, able to work on complex problems and organize multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include public speaking
