Mission:

Quantum Research Intl, Inc. is seeking an experienced candidate to provide visionary leadership support for accounting and financial reporting as the Director of Accounting. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The selected candidate will have a complete understanding of complex accounting areas and direct supervisory responsibility for the Accounting Managers and their subordinates as summarized below.

Responsibilities:

  • Will oversee development, timeliness and maintaining of all accounting/financial policies and procedures
  • Responsible for implementing, setting expectations and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies, DCMA, SEC requirements and US GAAP.
  • Maintain integrity in internal controls, ensure compliance with Company accounting policies, internal control structure control and all applicable laws and regulations
  • Oversees the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements (including income, property, sales and use, payroll, and other local taxes), insurance reports and other reports required by government regulation. Also, assists Corporate Tax, Treasury and Risk departments with dealing with tax related issues and meeting reporting requirements
  • Planning, organizing, and coordinating, the year-end close process with internal and external auditors
  • Analyzing, Auditing, and overseeing the preparation of financial statements, including cash flow statements, planning, month end, budgeting and authorizing expenditures.
  • Ensures that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities, noted above. Responsible for continued development/training of these associates.
  • Lead and provides high level technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all company entities. At times, this may include involvement in due diligence and other activities surrounding acquisitions/dispositions
  • Other duties as assigned as they relate to the position and company goals of Quantum Research Intl.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting /Finance /Business or equivalent. MS degree or CPA cert a plus.
  • Minimum of 12 years of professional work experience with at least 6 plus year in senior level (people management/controller or combined) DoD environment
  • Must have experience working with DCAA and DCMA and extensive knowledge of FAR
  • Experience in government cost accounting is required and understanding of SOX
  • Understanding of GAAP, financial statement relationships, and external financial reporting
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are necessary
  • Good communication skills both written/verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills, including intermediate to advanced Excel
  • Experience with Cost Point is required
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships across the organization
