Job Title: Director, Business Development
Reports To: CEO
Job Overview:
The Director,Business Development (BD) is responsible for the generation of sales of
Convergent Products and Services that directly fuel the Company’s economic engine. The
Director of BD is the lead salesperson for the Company and coordinates all sales activities with the objective of growing Company sales revenues consistent with Company financial targets.
The Director of Business Development maintains the Company’s factored pipeline and is the primary point of contact for the Company’s Government Contracting vehicles to include its
General Services Administration (GSA) contract and schedule.
The Director of Business Development works with other members of the Convergent team as the lead proposal writer, and coordinates with other divisions to ensure that pricing models are accurately and precisely calculated so as to guarantee a reasonable profit on all engagements and contracts. The Director of Business Development works collaboratively with other divisions to ensure that when a prospective customer becomes an active customer, a smooth transition is made to the Operations and Finance departments to ensure the new customer sees a positive, hands-on approach from the entire Convergent Team. The Director of Business
Development coordinates the engagement of members of the Convergent Team with current customers for opportunities to expand and grow their business relationship with the Company; retention and contract expansion of current customers is a responsibility of the Directorof
Business Development jointly with the Operations team.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develops new and existing markets with market research, outreach, and social media.
- Develops and maintains the Company’s Business Development Strategy, both short and long-term. Coordinates with other divisions as necessary to ensure that the Business
Development team has the greatest opportunities for sales each quarter. Maintains theCompany Factored Pipeline and regularly convenes and chairs Sales Pipeline meetings.
- Develops and maintains the policies, procedures and practices required to allow the sales team, and other Convergent team members to grow the business and Company profits through the sales to new customers and retention of existing customers.
- Maintains the Company Sales Commission Policy as a sales incentive tool. Coordinate with other Company divisions to ensure that all Commissions are correctly calculated and distributed in accordance with the Commission Policy.
- Serves as the primary Proposal Writer for the Company, coordinating with all divisions to ensure that sales proposals are developed accurately, error-free, professionally and with the best possible chance for success. Maintains and updates as necessary Company cost

- Represents the company at sales related events, conferences, expositions, etc.
- Provides updates on sales efforts and prospects on a schedule established by the CEO and Managing Partner consistent with normal company meetings and briefings.
- Prepares an annual Sales Strategy Review for discussion and review during the Annual
Partners Meeting.
- Responsible for the administrative oversight of all government procurement vehicles
(e.g., GSA, SeaPort, etc.), and direct interaction with points of contact while ensuring compliance standards, currency of documentation on file, and awareness of program changes.
- Oversees Company marketing campaigns via social media and other marketing outlets, to include general content management of the Company website.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher OR a proven track record over a sustained period of time.
- Experience in sales and business development within the Aerospace and other high- risk/high-reliability industries, both government and civilian. Well-versed in the requirements of US Government contracting practices.
- Profficient in Microsoft Office family of applications, especially MS Teams, SharePoint,
Excel and Word. Experience using standard Customer Resource Management software.
- A high degree of interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, including communications (verbal and written), social awareness and organization. As a primary customer facing representative, excellent public speaking skills before both small and large groups are required.
- Engaging, outgoing and compelling in the representation of Convergent Performance’s products, services and capabilities before existing and prospective customers.
Impeccable standards of appearance and grooming so as to represent Convergent in the best possible light to current and prospective customers, as well as before competitors.
- No special certifications required.

- Able to travel as required to accomplish the tasks associated with being both an Officer of the Company and primary salesperson. Able to attend meetings as required by the

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
