Savannah Quarters Country Club-Heritage Golf Group are conducting a search for Director of Golf at their Pooler/Savannah Georgia location. Savannah Quarters Country Club is a private 18 hole Greg Norman Signature course with a growing and thriving golf membership.

The ideal candidate will ensure the future success of golf operation through inspirational leadership that drives continual improvement and innovativeness. Provides professional support, direction, management, training and leadership in golf operations. A forward-thinking visionary who works tirelessly to promote the game of golf at the Club, and is always looking to enhance the member experience.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

• Leads the management and performance all golf operations and services assuring high standards to achieve member and employee partner satisfaction.

• Oversees the fiscal responsibilities for all golf areas including planning, forecasting, budget development, management, and accurate reporting.

• Serves a growing membership and develops programming for a sustainable future.

• Maintains high visibility, remains engaging, and presents a strong sense of emotional intelligence when interacting with members, guests and employee partners.

• Governs all rules and regulations for golf course, pace of place, course etiquette.

• Assimilate and build relationships with golf guest services employee partners; design and implement performance strategies that promote a positive workplace, enhance employee retention, and improve overall member satisfaction.

• Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating new golf operations staff.

• Develop a collaborative and cohesive partnership with the Golf Course Superintendent, department heads, golf staff and vendor partners.

• Create and implement exciting tournaments and programming while honoring the current traditions of the club.

• Build upon an exceptional teaching program by keeping current on game improving technology and equipment.

• Effectively communicate with the Membership, promoting new merchandise arrivals, written correspondence in newsletters, upcoming events, event winners, course maintenance schedules, and also highlighting accomplishments of staff.

• Attend Board/Committee/Staff/Industry Meetings representing the Club.

• Maintain a credible golf game; compete/represent the club in section events and play golf with a variety of Members when time permits.

• Represent the Club in a professional and positive manner within the greater Savannah community.

Education/Experience:

Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional with a minimum of five years of progressive experience at clubs known for a high-quality golf experience. Will have earned a Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Regularly stands, walks and sits. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Frequently uses hands; reaches with hands and arms. Frequently talks or hears; tastes or smells. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather). Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:

Class A member of PGA/LPGA

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

• Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates are required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
