Hexagon US Federal is seeking a dynamic candidate to lead our Human Resource (HR) department. The role will be as an HR Director and includes overseeing talent acquisition, performance development, policies, and procedures while applying a strategic outlook in daily operations. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this individual will work with our leadership team to help drive business objectives, provide counsel to leadership, and oversee the implementation of HR and talent management processes. The successful candidate would be both a strategic and hands-on individual, experienced in federal contracting, capable of providing full cycle HR support, with previous team management and leadership experience.

The candidate would partner with individuals across the business to address the following areas: Technical Talent Strategy Development and Execution; Performance Development; Talent Development; Employee Relations; Total Rewards, to include general and executive compensation and benefits; Culture, Inclusion, and Diversity; and Talent Acquisition. The position is based out of Chantilly, Virginia or Huntsville, AL and requires periodic travel.

Position Requirements:

  • Lead a team of 5 geographically dispersed HR and recruiting personnel
  • Work as part of the Senior Management team and support the executive staff by providing HR direction, advice, and counsel
  • Support and execute the strategic direction of HR, including implementation of high value-added HR initiatives and processes that support business goals and objectives
  • Update, implement, and communicate company policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Formulate partnerships across the business to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization
  • Partner and coach managers on effectively engaging employees and addressing employee relations issues
  • Support the development of a workforce strategy and collaborate with Talent Acquisition to translate strategy into an executable plan
  • Manage organizational change; develop and implement workforce plans; proactively plan for hiring critical talent and devise strategies to shape workforce; and influence and drives key hiring decisions
  • Develops and executes action plans to develop leaders and key talent in the organization
  • Support bid and proposal efforts in creating a pipeline of talent for current and future opportunities
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for multiple states concerning employment and affirmative action

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience in HR and talent management
  • HR Certification highly desired
  • Experienced in all aspects of OFCCP audit process
  • Ability to thrive in a high pressure and everchanging environment while creating solutions
  • Impeccable leadership qualities with the ability to surpass standard expectations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong business acumen regarding work in the federal contracting business and an understanding of the fundamental financial drivers used in this industry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change management activities in the organization
  • Demonstrated track record of ability to influence situations to a positive outcome
