Position Overview

As an HR Director, you are a part of the BGCT leadership team, collaborating with leaders across all departments to drive strategy, execution and engagement. In this role, you will bring leadership skills and gain a deep knowledge of the business across BGCT growing presence. Expectations are to scale with the growth of the business, lead and develop diverse teams across all clubs, solve problems with creative solutions, and deliver best in class team engagement and HR operational results.

You will be responsible for managing and administering all club HR operations, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. Provide advice and counsel to management in the development and implementation of policies and practices that comply with all applicable regulations and are consistent with Boys & Girls Clubs of Tracy mission and values. In filling a new FT position to the organization, the Director will have the opportunity to build and shape the HR function.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administer and oversee the human resource programs including, but not limited to, onboarding, benefits (open & new hire enrollment) and leave of absence; employee relations activities (disputes & investigations, disciplinary matters); employee incentive & recognition activities
  • Update and oversee HRIS system
  • Identify staffing and recruiting needs; reviews current processes and identify gaps
  • Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance including Covid-19 related compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Participate in monthly Human Resource committee meetings
  • Perform other duties as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Attend evening meetings and occasional conferences and trainings which may require limited travel.

§ May be required drive Club vehicle or use personal vehicle in course of employment

§ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

§ Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

§ CPR and First Aid Certifications; pass TB test, annual background screen and fingerprinting.

§ Must provide verification of authorization to work in the United States.

§ COVID-19 Considerations: we have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy and are considering candidates who are fully vaccinated or are willing to get their first vaccine prior to employment.

§ Must be willing & able to adhere to COVID Safety Protocols.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required

· At least five years of human resource management experience required.

· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
