In this position, you will be part of TASC’s agency infrastructure, whose departments collectively assure the overall quality, fiscal responsibility, effectiveness, and impact of TASC’s work, and work to advance our mission to build a healthier, safer, and more just society.
This position is responsible for the overall operation, quality and administration of the agency moderate complexity toxicology laboratories (Chicago and Rockford). This position works closely with and performs duties as deemed by the CLIA Laboratory Director. This position also serves as a liaison between the lab, clients and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of the laboratories and testing personnel
Provides timely and accurate reporting of toxicology testing results
Maintains compliance with CLIA requirements
Establishes, monitors and maintains laboratory Quality Assurance program
Establishes, monitors and adjusts quality controls
Review instrument maintenance logs and takes appropriate remedial actions
Troubleshoots and develops solutions for corrective actions
Provides training for personnel
Provides clinical and technical consultation when need
Responsible for and assists in the interpretation of test results. Refers to the CLIA Laboratory Director for any complicated interpretations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology science or related field
At least five years of clinical laboratory experience
Medical technology accreditation or equivalent preferred
Meets the requirements for Technical Consultant for a Moderate Complexity Laboratory as outline by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988
Ability to work with a diverse population
Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed (evening/weekend hours)
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional evening and/or weekend hours.
