The Director of Lifestyle Services role is responsible for the planning, coordination, and direction of a wide and varied scope of activities and programming which meet the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, vocational, social, physical and environmental needs of the members.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Interview, select, train, supervise and evaluate activity coordinators, valet, concierge, and IT Coordinator
  • Plan, coordinate and direct a robust program of spiritual, emotional, intellectual, vocational, social, physical and environmental activities with the intent of including all members in some area of lifestyle activity.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with lecturers, volunteers, community resources, performers, etc. who can provide programming to the members.
  • Publicize events, programs, activities, etc. and manage the electronic technology that communicates information.
  • Coordinate publication of the Community’s emailed newsletter according to community branding standards.
  • Ensure necessary supplies and resources are on-hand for each program.
  • Serve as a resource person for new members. Assure that all necessary forms are prepared, and informational pamphlets are distributed.
  • Coordinate services with other departments and involve other departments in activities as applicable.
  • Oversee the operation of the Community’s library.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Encourage members to take an active part in the community and recreational programs.
  • Assist members in determining the level and quantity of activity.
  • Select, train, supervise, evaluate and discipline departmental personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain required reports, records, studies and surveys.
  • Attend in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • Properly use the community logo according to the Logo Usage Guidelines and consistently with community branding.
  • Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensure active facilitation and successful implementation of the LCS Extraordinary Impressions hospitality program.
  • Be available and actively engage in support of community needs in times of emergency situations and perform duties as assigned.




Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • College degree in hospitality or communications preferred
  • Two years of appropriate professional experience in hospitality, recreation, or social administration.
  • Strong communication skills/people person
  • At least five years' experience in supervising staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform simple arithmetic
  • Knowledge with computer programs/Microsoft programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able to work with others in setting up for events, including lifting, stooping, stretching, and using a stepstool.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.; must be able to complete small set-ups independently; must be able to assist members physically in boarding the bus, sitting, standing, and walking
  • Good visual and hearing acuity required; good verbal communication skills required.
  • May be exposed to body fluids at times.
  • May be exposed to cleaning chemicals and offensive odors at times.
