Job Title: Director, Infection Control

Location: Downey, CA

Duration: Permanent / Direct Hire

Requirements:

· CA RN License

· BLS required

· Infection prevention experience in a hospital setting

· management experience in a hospital setting

· CIC is required

Experience

· Minimum three (3) years of experience as an Infection Control Professional.

· Minimum three (3) years of experience in an established infection prevention/control program in an acute care hospital including minimum two (2) years of program management/supervisory experience.

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Science or healthcare related field.

· License, Certification, Registration

· Infection Control Certificate

Responsibilities:

· The Clinical Nurse Specialist in Infection Prevention and Control holds several crucial responsibilities. Firstly, they are responsible for upholding Kaiser Permanente's policies, Principles of Responsibilities, and relevant laws. Their primary focus is on managing infection prevention and control services, including planning, development, implementation, and evaluation/improvement of programs. They aim to exceed established standards and performance measures in terms of quality, patient/member satisfaction, cost, employee quality of work life, physician/client department satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and regulatory compliance.

· This role also involves overseeing infection prevention and control services across the continuum of care, ensuring consistency and uniformity throughout the medical center and associated outpatient/satellite buildings. The Clinical Nurse Specialist develops evidence-based interventions to minimize the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) and disease transmission. Collaboration with key stakeholders and departments is essential, building strong relationships and fostering teamwork.

· The Clinical Nurse Specialist manages human resources, including supervision and leadership of the Infection Prevention staff. They collaborate with departmental managers to develop and monitor department-specific goals and objectives for the Infection Prevention and Control Program. Compliance with regulatory requirements, financial management, and effective communication with administrative/management staff and physicians are also key responsibilities.

· Additionally, this role involves surveillance, reporting, policy development, performance evaluation, research, disaster response, and consultation for facility construction/remodeling. The Clinical Nurse Specialist in Infection Prevention and Control plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and effective healthcare environment, protecting patients, staff, and the community from the risks of infection.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $170,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
