Job Summary
The University of Colorado Boulder Athletics department encourages applications for a
Director of Operations, Olympic Sports! The purpose of this position is to serve as a lead in Olympic sports operations and assist in post-season event management. The position is responsible for coordination and reconciliation of team travel, on-campus recruiting visits, off-campus recruiting, scheduling of events, and some game-day activities of Olympic sport programs including Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Golf, Women's Tennis and Skiing. In addition to sports operations, the position will assume increasing responsibility to assist in the development and promotion of post-season campus-hosted events. The position will report directly to the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) but will also work closely with head and assistant coaches.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the PAC-12 Conference and the NCAA.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Sports Operations Director:
- Serve as the direct contact or secondary liaison for Athletic Administration, Academic Services, Performance Nutrition, Equipment Staff, Training Room, Strength and Conditioning, Team Compliance, Ticket Office, Business Office, Housing, and Events and other areas related to the Olympics Sport Programs.
- Work with Special Events Coordinator on end of year banquets and other events related to Olympic Sport Programs.
- Develop and implement department wide sport operations collaboration that will allow sharing of contacts and information for away locations visited by all sports.
- Assist SWA with conference competition scheduling confirmation, student-athlete awards and facilitate game contracts as needed.
- Collaborate with creative and digital team related to recruiting and program materials and arrange distribution to recruits, alumni, and other support groups.
Travel (Team and Recruiting):
- Oversee and support team itineraries, transportation, lodging, meals and related requirements for departmental travel. Will have the ability to travel with affiliated programs during regular season and post-season, as schedule allows.
- Coordinate coach recruiting travel and processing of recruiting data in compliance database.
- Plan, arrange, and assist in completing recruiting visits on campus for prospective student-athletes.
- Coordinate foreign tour travel, as necessary.
Championships and Post-Season Events:
- Will serve as a member of the CU Athletics Post-Season Events Committee.
- Assist in post-season bid submission, proposed budgets, hotel coordination, visitor guides and administrative meetings.
- Work closely with marketing and BSP to help promote and increase attendance, as well as identify potential partners that are interested in Olympic Sports.
Budget:
- Responsible for maintaining budgetary records and meeting requirements of the department.
- Appraise head coaches of accounting and administrative business on a routine basis.
- Responsible for reconciling receipts for team travel, coaches travel and recruiting travel through the CU expense system.
What You Should Know
- This position requires some irregular work hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. Occasional travel with teams may be required.

What We Can Offer
- The salary rate is $58,000 to $60,000 annually.

What We Require
- Bachelor's Degree.
- One year experience working with a collegiate athletic program. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
What You Will Need
- Excellent organizational proficiency, customer service skills and strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience effectively creating and maintaining budgets.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Teamworks, Concur, and JumpForward, or related programs.
- Dedication to diversity and equity.
What We Would Like You to Have
- Master's Degree.
- Two years of experience with a Division I Sports program in operations.
- Experience using Concur, or another University financial budgeting or accounting system.
- Experience using recruiting/compliance software.
- Experience as a tournament director, hosting fundraisers and/or post-season championships.
