Job Description

Summary
The Director of Revenue Cycle will oversee the billing and coding department, provide provider and support staff training, perform analytic assessments, generate reports, and perform interventions to optimize the revenue
This position reports directly to the CFO and works closely with other Senior leadership team members to develop reporting metrics and aid in decision making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Directs and oversees all functions of coding, claim management, billing, payment, collections, and insurance enrollment
  • Compiles and analyzes detailed revenue information for the organization
  • Reviews billing practices to ensure accuracy and proper revenue recognition
  • Develops forecasting tools to analyze revenue variances
  • Develops EPIC reporting to support efficient data analysis for tracking revenue and other metrics
  • Designs and implements strategies to achieve revenue generation and cost savings opportunities
  • Researches and compiles revenue cycle information for special projects
  • Develops billing office policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Analyzes AR reports to identify problems on accounts and creates and monitors projects based on findings, with appropriate colleagues
  • Measures and evaluates effectiveness of trainings provided to trainees
  • Conducts billing and coding audits
  • Serves as the subject matter expert regarding the revenue cycle process for billing department management staff, clinic managers, directors, and executive staff
  • Collaborates with the Director of Operations and Chief Operating Officer
  • Acquire and maintain current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-payer rules and regulations with respect to billing and communicate this information to providers and other appropriate personnel to help ensure increased cash flow and profitability on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with CFO to provide data necessary for month end and year end financial close


Assists with other projects as assigned by the CFO.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Billing Manager, Assistant Billing Manager, Credentialing and Enrollment Analyst, and all billing and coding staff will report to this position.

  • Ability to leverage large amounts of data, present in a summary format (i.e., Pivot tables, VLookups), and effectively communicate observed trends

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or healthcare field. Minimum of 5 years of finance experience required. Medical billing and coding certification preferred. Previous oversight of billing and coding required.

Computer Skills

Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) required. Preferred experience with EPIC and Sage/Abila MIP Fund Accounting.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with experience. Expected salary is between $115,000.00 and $125,000.00. FCC pays 100% of employee health, dental, and vision and 75% of dependent health dental and vision. FCC also pays a 5% retirement savings match.
