As a global ministry, we are seeking a Christ-centered Director of Security who is called to be part of our team to help develop and direct security and loss prevention strategies and services, which assist in the protection of Pastor Gary and Pastor Drenda Keesee, their employees, church members, physical and financial assets and critical / sensitive information. Specifically, the Director of Security oversees a staff of security professionals who provide value-added investigative, loss prevention and special security services for Faith Life Ministries. The Director of Security would provide overall direction, administration and management of Faith Life Ministries’ Security Department with oversight responsibility for security related investigations, services and programs. He/She would also provide high-level coordination for sharing of best security practices, allocating resources, directing team initiatives, and implementing processes in order to enhance synergies and cost savings measures. This would include, but not limited to, staff, faculty, student and visitor safety, alarm and surveillance systems, premises security and safety, campus traffic flow and safety.


Job Description:

  • Develop and direct investigative programs and processes to support Faith Life Ministries.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a Key Personnel Protection program for Faith Life Ministries. This program should include contingency management plans and executive protection programs for acts such as extortion and kidnapping. This would be a collaboration with the Facilities Manager.
  • Make decisions and formulate strategies, services and programs on extremely sensitive security matters that have the potential to impact the safety of the Keesee Family, their employees, church membership, Ministry assets and information.
  • Maintain high level liaison with international agencies as well as federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
  • Develop, in connection with the Ministry, loss prevention programs and services that mitigate losses and reduce liability for the protection of all Faith Life Ministries personnel and church members.
  • Develop, in connection with the Ministry, physical security programs and plans for the protection of Faith Life Ministries personnel and assets. These programs include security surveys, threat assessments, technical countermeasures sweeps, special event security and other related programs.
  • Keep Faith Life Ministries Executive Management personnel informed of security issues that may have an impact on the ministry.
  • Maintain ongoing coordination with management on all security support to ensure the highest quality value-added services at competitive costs.
  • Supervise, evaluate and train staff.
  • Pastoral staff protection- coordinates the movement and safety of the senior pastor, his family, and others as needed, during services.
  • Deal with local law enforcement contractors or private security firms for protective services at various church sponsored events both on and off campus.
  • Work with various church ministries to develop and implement security procedures to minimize inherent risks in ministries.
  • Develop and document security policies and procedures.
  • Participate in development, implementation and monitoring of current and future electronic surveillance systems at all campuses.
  • Produce and maintain purchase orders for security equipment for all campuses.
  • Conduct risk assessments of premises for burglary, robbery, theft and fire.
  • Implement processes and procedures for mail screening and bomb threats.
  • Work with law enforcement to investigate theft, bomb threats and other criminal incidents.
  • Coordinate training for ushers, greeters and parking teams.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, preferred.
  • Law Enforcement experience (5-10 years preferred).
  • Corporate Security experience.
  • Experience with Local/State/International security contracts (preferred).
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision on a wide variety of projects (self-motivated/ organizational leader).
  • Effective communicator / team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of investigative and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and excel in the use of technology, including video surveillance systems.
  • Experience in problem solving with troubled individuals.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and campuses effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Skilled in Conflict resolution.
  • Must be available to work all shifts and some holidays.
  • Must work well in stress-filled situations.
  • May be asked to qualify and maintain a license as a Commissioned Security Officer with the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.
