- Work in partnership with staff and administration to oversee the smooth integration of technology into the academic, curricular and administrative functions of the Kirtland Local Schools.
- Ensure that students and staff in the Kirtland Local Schools have access to the appropriate technology and training to enhance learning and productivity.
- Serves as a staff member to the District Technology Committee.
- Develop annual goals to ensure successful implementation of the strategic technology long-range plan and develop recommendations for modifications to the plan.
- Serve as district liaison to the Lake-Geauga Computer Association.
- Coordinate with the Director of Curriculum/Superintendent for the purchase of new technology hardware and software.
- Coordinate with building principals and director of pupil services on the installation of new technology hardware and software.
- Install, configure and maintain physical server hardware and software. Maintain, configure and update Windows server domain including Active directory servers, DHCP, DNS, all features and services running on the servers. Install, configure and maintain all client/server software running on all servers
- Install configure and maintain virtual servers and the VSphere environment plus Install, configure and maintain all client/server software running on all virtual servers
- Install, configure and maintain remote virtual servers housed at ITC.
- Perform and monitor daily backups of remote virtual servers housed at ITC.
- Install, configure and maintain all switches in the district including backups of configurations.
- Install, configure and maintain Wireless access points and Wireless Lan Controller.
- Monitor and configure web filters as needed for blocking and allowing websites.
- Monitor and configure mail filters as needed.
- Manage firewall and network security.
- Manage safety materials that include but are not limited to cameras, visitor sign-ins, phone systems and communication.
- Install, upgrade, configure and maintain enterprise antivirus software and make sure desktop and portable computers are receiving updates plus remove viruses as needed.
- Install, upgrade, configure and maintain domain end user helpdesk software.
- Maintain, configure, control, and operate a Cisco IP Phone system and Singlewire Informacast paging/PA/ Emergency management system.
- Work and assist other Technicians with maintenance, hardware configurations, repair, software installations, imaging, assisting end users, upgrades, warranty and out of warranty hardware replacements.
- Assist all users with any and all issues, service requests, questions, training, creating and managing user email, distribution lists, and network accounts, maintain portable devices hands on and with mobile device management software, configure and maintain Chrome book devices using Google apps for education. Maintain and configure/repair all classroom equipment including projectors, smart boards, and document cameras.
- Make intelligent choices on new hardware purchases that include price, warranty, longevity of the equipment, and support from the manufacturer.
- Inventory all new equipment and record all information. Asset tag all equipment.
- Assist with any requests to repair issues with any camera and Wisenet camera software plus review footage as requested.
- Install, Upgrade, maintain the AMAG door control software. Issue key fobs to users and inventory user paperwork.
- Create and manage staff/student email and network login accounts. Manage and assist with all student online testing including bulk adding of users, assisting teachers with troubleshooting and contacting software manufactures to work out issues. Work with student tech helpers keeping them motivated, productive, and learning.
- Manage District wide security adhering to MFA insurance requirements and continue modifying and improving the Cybersecurity policy.
- Oversee and manage Google administration for Student Chromebooks/devices including yearly purchasing, repairs and replacements as needed. Manage User accounts, and security settings.
- Manage purchases through E-rate when applicable.
- Apply for Government grants when available.
- Perform other duties, as directed.
- Supervise the selection and purchase of educational technology hardware and software in grades K-12.
- Work with administration and teachers in planning and implementing educational technology in the overall K-12 curriculum.
- Assist Superintendent and/ or other Administrators in searching e-mail, hard drives, and desk tops of bargaining unit employees suspected of various types of inappropriate behavior.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or his/ her designee.
- Work with personnel, employees, and administrators formulating and implementing District policy as to what constitutes proper and improper use of electronic devices and school property, including, but not limited to, use of computers and email services.
- Enforce District electronic use policy in tandem with personnel employees and administrators in disciplining bargaining unit members for violations of the District's electronic use policy.
- Expand staff awareness and use of telecommunications through a variety of technologies.
- Assist teachers in selecting and evaluating appropriate educational software.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or his/her designee.
- Participate in professional organizations.
- Stay abreast of current educational/computer literature and current trends in technology, inside and outside of education.
- Participate in technology in-service activities.
