Job Summary
The Director, Strategy & Insights Operations is responsible for supporting the VP of S&I team to drive strategic agenda across the team, define priorities and operating model, draft strategies, and led and coordinate special projects on an interim or full-time basis while acting as a delegate where needed. This will require a strategic mindset and experience, strong management and organizational skills, significant collaboration, synthetization skills and communication with stakeholders while driving transformational change. The role will support effective communication with the relevant audiences and alignment on the strategic imperatives as well as a strong financial background. As a critical member of the Strategy & Insights LT, this role requires a highly-resourceful individual who can collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others. The ideal candidate will handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, appropriately prioritizing long-term projects with the urgency of immediate demands. This person will demonstrate a deep understanding of Equinix business processes, operating models and our Corporate and functional/BU strategies. The Operations Leader should not only be able to build the trust necessary to manage sensitive and delicate matters, but also be able to challenge with data-backed analytics and credibility. An effective candidate will have strong ability to build deep partnerships, analyze nuanced issues, synthesize, and strategically communicate, and lead through influence.
Responsibilities
Leadership Alignment & Efficiency
Drive planning and content for annual meetings and events as well as team focus and agenda
Identify and implement best practices to make time, information, and decision-making more effective for the team
Facilitate team meetings ensure projects are on track and the team is operating effectively, partnership with Director Enablement on change manage and communications
End-to-end ownership of team operating reviews
Act as a confidant and adviser; bringing a holistic perspective with covers both the internal enterprise but also external best practices and insights
Act in an empowered way to identify areas of misalignment across Strategy & Insights LT and meet with leaders to formulate a plan to seek resolution
Budget Management
Manage Strategy & Insights budget in partnership with Finance
Participate in budget planning cycle and partner with Strategy & Insights LT to ensure and, in some cases facilitate, system-level coordination of asks/reductions
Special Projects
Evaluate and shape critical issues and/or opportunities determined and prioritized by Strategy & Insights LT, sometimes strategizing with cross-functional programs to drive business results
Execute projects end-to-end with mandate to help Strategy & Insights LT drive speed and efficiency across the organization; identify “sand in gears” and partner on plans to remedy
Help shape special projects that advance the Strategy & Insights strategy, occasionally leveraging well-developed project-management discipline with a focus on organization, strategic thinking, attention to detail, and following up doggedly to ensure timely results

Ask the hard questions to ensure that projects and investments have true impact to Equinix, including ongoing discussions on whether the impact/ROI is enough
Operate with a high level of integrity and discretion including matters of people, legal proceedings, acquisitions, and financial forecasts
Maintain business savvy, including an understanding of the marketplace, competitors, and technology to opine on what is required for sustained operating results
Qualifications
Extensive experience preferred in a similar role, with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility particularly a financial background
Significant experience and understanding of business operations and programs
Prior experience with Strategy & Insight, finances or related functions
Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills demonstrated ability to produce and edit persuasive business communications
Experience managing multiple complex programs in a highly dynamic and fluid environment
Demonstrated expertise in making business-critical decisions
Strong data, analytics and strategic capabilities – with a pragmatic holistic problem-solving approach
Strategic and flexible approach to business problem solving. Ability to process information to formulate an effective strategy and programs
Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills with the ability to form deep and trusted relationships, across organizations, including key internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals
Energetic, enthusiastic, disciplined, hard-working and a total team player
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
- San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $160,000 to $273,000
- Colorado: $139,000 to $237,000
- New York: $153,000 to $261,000
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
