The Director of Talent Acquisition oversees the recruiting function as part of the headquarters HR team, supporting our communities, the pre-opening location in Tysons, VA, and our headquarters in Evanston, IL. Reporting to the SVP, HR, this role oversees all recruiting efforts for the Company, with both tactical and strategic support. This position plays a key role in candidate marketing, developing a talent pipeline, and is an active ambassador in the local community and with our target schools.

This role contributes to our talent acquisition strategy, to identify and strengthen feeder channels for management and line staff talent, with a focus on reducing time to fill, and identifying ways to close the talent gaps in our overall workforce plan.

The successful candidate will demonstrate their selling skills and strength as a recruiter with experience in managing high volume and senior level sourcing, experience in increasing brand awareness with passive candidates, and the ability to cultivate relationships with skilled talent to inspire candidates to join Mather.

Based in Chicagoland, within commuting distance of the Mather Headquarters office in Evanston, IL, this role has one direct report, the Talent Acquisition Manager for headquarters, and will have indirect reporting responsibility for the Recruiter in Tysons, VA, as well as the recruiting function in our communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cast a wide net to build a pipeline of active and passive candidates
  • Understand the workforce needs across the organization and provide creative methods to our communities for successful sourcing and recruiting
  • Assist with developing the overall recruiting strategy for the Company
  • Leverage and strengthen social channels to find talent who are passionate, skilled, and are a great fit for Mather, increasing brand interest through non-traditional sources
  • Lead the development of a best-in-class applicant experience and contribute to developing strong and efficient onboarding process
  • Direct responsibility for senior level recruitment at HQ in roles for our three areas of service: Senior Living, Mather Institute and Communities Initiatives, and oversees non-exempt recruitment
  • Oversee the eMerge program (partnership-based program in Evanston IL) providing opportunities for internships, fellowship, and scholarships and manage other partnerships to build feeder pools
  • Oversee the college recruiting program
  • Track and communicate recruiting metrics
  • Manage the Novare posting program
  • All other duties as assigned

  • 3 year(s): recruiter in the hospitality, customer service, healthcare, and/or senior living industry
