GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Under supervision from the Food Service Director and Chefs, the Dishwasher/Utility Worker is responsible for properly cleaning and sanitizing dishes, pots and pans, equipment and facilities; removing trash; assisting with other tasks as instructed by supervisor.The Dishwasher/Utility Worker is responsible for consistently providing the highest quality of service and hospitality to residents and their family members, co-workers, vendors, and all visitors.

Duties include and are not limited to:

Providing and contributing to a professional and productive environment by promoting a positive image and collaborative working style

Observing surroundings and resident behaviors, and taking responsibility to report potentially unsafe resident situations to supervisor

Attending staff and other mandatory trainings/meetings as expected

Adhering to all safety rules and regulations including proper lifting and transfer techniques, use of cut gloves and personal protective equipment

Following all HACCP guidelines

Adhering to all Company rules, policies, procedures and expectations

Complying with all the expectations of essential personnel including the ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, weekends, holidays and in severe weather

Communicating effectively with all co-workers, OceanView staff, vendors, residents and visitors

Establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with residents, staff, and others

Cleaning and sanitizing properly all silverware, plates, trays, hot pellets, soup bowls, mugs, tops and underlines as well as pots, pans, and kitchen utensils

Performing side cleaning responsibilities

Removing trash

Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming

Setting up and delivering room service trays as needed

Wearing personal protective equipment as necessary

Delivering prepared food items via car or golf cart as well as delivery and pick up of room service trays under prescribed protocol and procedures

EXPERIENCE

No experience is required.

EDUCATION

There are no minimum education requirements.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

CPR Certified or willingness to become certified within six months of hire. Valid Maine driver’s license is required.
