Department/Position Overview

The Strategy, Supply and Distribution Department is the driving force in keeping Valor Oils C&I and Retail Divisions Operationally Excellent. Valor Oil’s peak deliverable volume is in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, North Carolina, and South Carolina. It is the Strategy, Supply and Distribution Departments responsibility for all Fuel Procurement, Company Transport Driver Utilization, 3rd Party Carrier partnerships and delivery order fulfilment. Nestled as the true operational hub of the company, the “SS&D” Department works as the procurement and delivery execution arm for C&I Plant Managers, Wholesale Fuel Sales Specialists, and the Retail Dealer Team. The “SS&D” Department also conducts terminal market pricing analysis, Capacity GAP analysis, Carrier Partner Enrichment studies and many more. We have a “Team First” mentality. We pride ourselves in consistent and meaningful communication with our internal and external partners. We constantly look for innovative yet simple ways to handle complex problems.

Position Location/Shift

The Strategy, Supply and Distribution Coordinator will report in person to the Owensboro, KY Valor Oil Head Office. Scheduled Weekly Day (1st) Shift Tuesday-Saturday.

Key Job Duties

  • Daily - Fuel Procurement and Distribution to Valor Customer Sites
  • Daily - Monitor Contracted Valor Inventory Managed Sites – Retail + C&I Operations
  • Daily – Communication to 3rd Party Carrier Partners and Company Drivers on Delivery Schedules
  • Daily – Communication/Procurement with Supply Partners/Vendors
  • Weekly – Prepare and Present Distribution Performance to SS&D Team
  • Monthly – SS&D Recap Meetings
  • On Request - Assist SS&D Manager in Terminal Market Pricing Analysis
  • On Request - Assist SS&D Manager in Coverage Capacity Analysis
  • On Request - Assist SS&D Manager in Business Development Analysis

  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written in English.
  • Demonstrated Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite Applications.
  • Weekend and Holiday Work
  • High School diploma or GED

Recommended

Education Recommended:

  • Bachelors in a Business-Related Field

Previous Work History Recommended:

  • Food Service
  • Business Development/Sales
  • Freight Brokerage/Logistics – 2 years minimum if using this experience.
