As a Documentation Specialist, you will be responsible for obtaining and qualifying appropriate documentation required to bill claims for medical supplies to third party insurance plans.

General responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing orders/claims to determine the appropriate documentation required to bill insurance plans
• Receiving and verifying requested documentation from patients or their medical providers
• Frequent contact and follow up with physicians and patients regarding documentation requests – including inbound and outbound phone calls
• Update patient’s accounts/orders with regards to documentation and billing status.
• Work with physician or billing staff to ensure that correct diagnosis codes are reported to third-party insurance carriers.
• Process rejections/non-qualified documentation by generating corrected documentation or requesting corrections made for any errors and resubmitting documentation to billing department.

Full Time Position (Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4pm)

This position will ultimately be based out of our Libertyville, IL corporate office and will offer a remote or hybrid work model.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00 per hour. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
