DONOR SCREENING SUPERVISOR

OCTAPHARMA LITTLE YORK CENTER. 1541 Little York Rd, Houston, TX 77093 (off Little York and Hardy Toll Rd).

This Is What You’ll Do:

  • Registering new and current donor
  • Conducting a series of screening procedures to determine suitability for plasma donation
  • Maintains compliance with SOP, current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP) and regulatory guidelines
  • Greets and builds rapport with donors and directs them to appropriate areas for further processing
  • Maintains donor flow while adhering to standard operating procedures
  • Remains professional at all times in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Complies with federal, state, local and company-specific regulations related to quality of product, employee and donor safety and to the proper performance of day-to-day activities
  • Trains and provides leadership to new/existing employees
  • Reallocates area resources to alleviate process flow issues to minimize the donor’s time in the center
  • Provides positive and effective guidance to Medical Screeners
  • Performs donor medical screening to determine suitability of donor to include reviewing health related documents and taking vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
  • Educates new donors on the use of products made from donated plasma. This includes explaining the process, the tests performed, the appointment system, fees, center policies, proper nutrition and any other information pertinent to the donor. Ensure that all donor questions are answered timely, accurately and professionally
  • Reviews donor reclassification requirements and resolves donor classification issues
  • Conducts daily calibration of equipment according to appropriate SOPs
  • Performs other job related tasks, as assigned.
  • Accountable for all area operations (e.g. donor flow facilitation, scheduling and employee supervision)

This is What It Takes:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work early mornings, days, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to thirty-five pounds.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to understand and follow protocol.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrates consistency and Reliability (attendance, attitude, work ethic, etc.)
  • General computer skills.
  • Bilingual is a plus (not required).
  • CPR Certification is a plus (not required).
  • Team Lead / Supervisor Experience
