The Division of Child Support (DCS), within Economic Services Administration (ESA) has an opportunity for a Support Enforcement Officer 4, Supervisor. You'll supervise a team of professionals, provide key leadership and a vision consistent with our mission to Transform Lives and grow a culture focused on whole family needs. This position can be located in Spokane, Vancouver, Tumwater, Olympia, Tacoma, Everett, Seattle, Kennewick, Yakima or Wenatchee as part of our statewide virtual team.
Some of what you'll be doing:
- Supervise a statewide virtual team
- Supervise and train SEOs and other personnel in all aspects of program functions
- Manage day-to-day operations of the team, assigning, reviewing and evaluating work, and managing employee performance, providing coaching and performance improvement plans
- Establish team procedures and expectations for completion of work and provide timely staff evaluations
- Assess training needs and requirements for staff development, coach and mentor staff
- Manage and assist in the recruiting & onboarding of new employees, planning and prioritizing workloads to meet internal and external deadlines
- Review, collect and analyze information to determine team and individual staff performance; provide timely staff evaluations
- Provide coaching, recognition, corrective action, and escalate issues to your manager as necessary
- Provide input on policy clarifications, emergency procedures and manuals for DCS staff statewide
- Schedules and participates in regular meetings to initiate and maintain community partnerships.
- Lends leadership, vision and allocates resources to grant initiatives as determined by management
- Presents DSHS, DCS and program overview to internal and external partners
What we're looking for:
Ability to work and supervise staff in a virtual environment- Ability to lead by example and maintain a respectful environment
- Experience working with individuals exhibiting challenging behavior
- Ability multi-task and manage interruptions, prioritize work assignments to meet timelines and/or other priorities
- Knowledge of state statutes and federal regulations, case processing standards and court decisions
- Ability to work effectively with others to develop trust, address and resolve performance management issues, resolve problems effectively and at the lowest possible level, and work with others to develop and implement solutions
- Excellent communication skills and strong work ethics and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity
