Join us at Orland Park to be a Dual Imaging Technologist!

Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exams and Computed Tomography (CT) procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomic images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient’s conditions essential for successful completion of the procedures. Services are provided in accordance with industry standards, department protocols, and hospital policies and procedures. Acts as a resource to other technologists, enforces protocols, educates on changes, and performs quality audits to maintain department quality standards.

Job duties
  • Performs both MR and CT scans as assigned and holds competency for both MR and CT procedures. Performs procedures according to set protocols established by radiologists.
  • Review all requisitions to ensure correct exam(s) have been ordered and allotted the proper timeframe. To coordinate exams that requires direct Radiologist involvement.
  • Has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate care protocol relating to the physical and psychological needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, young and mature adults, and geriatric patients.
  • Prepares contrast media, performs venipuncture, and administers contrast to patients under the direction of the physician
  • Review/evaluate completed exams for quality and proper format. Makes notation to Radiologist when images are to be repeated and the proper technical factors needed for correction.
  • Provides patient education prior to, during, and subsequent to the procedure in order to reduce patient anxiety and enhance patient comfort, providing optimal imaging
  • Reports and records all malfunctioning equipment to leadership and/or Radiology Engineering appropriately
  • Appropriately utilizes imaging systems, accessories and patient positioning techniques to generate quality images
  • Utilizes radiology information systems in accordance with current guidelines and protocols.
  • Actively participates in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Works closely with patient concierge, medical assistants, nurses and physicians to achieve positive outcomes and optimal patient flow.
  • Ensure safety of patients and non-radiology staff in and around the MRI scanner. Ensures that all regulatory compliance standards are met to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Participates in continuing education activities to maintain appropriate accreditation.
  • Perform daily quality assurance (QA) scans to ensure the system is in good working order.
  • Check to ensure that routine PMs (Preventive Maintenance) are performed as scheduled. Routinely check the RF coils for damage/and report repairs as needed. Document all system errors and save raw image and raw data when necessary to help service personnel troubleshoot any problems with the systems.
Required Qualifications
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology technology training in an AMA approved school.
  • Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required.
  • CPR training required and BLS training recommended.
  • Licensure by the state of Illinois (IEMA).
  • Current registry by ARRT

Preferred qualifications
  • advanced certification in both MRI and CT.
