JOB SUMMARY:
Through frequent home visits and contacts, the Early Intervention Specialist works with parents/other caregivers to provide quality Family Training/Special Instruction and Service Coordination services for children ages birth to five years who have developmental delays/disabilities in accordance with policies set forth by Babynet, SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs and Medicaid. The Early Intervention Specialist will work in Richland and Lexington County areas Monday to Friday. The Early Interventionist will: develop and manage Individualized Family Service Plans and Family Service Plans, provide Family Training services for parents/caregivers so they can facilitate their child's development, coordinate financial, therapy and other services needed to enhance the family's ability to care for their child or to facilitate the child's development and maintain documentation of all services provided.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related fields such as Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or Child Development.
- At least one year experience working with children birth to three years of age and/or children with developmental delays, diagnosis, or disabilities.
- Working knowledge of infant and child development.
- Ability to work in collaboration with other professionals and agencies.
- Demonstrated ability/experience in writing professional reports and correspondence.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Ability to work effectively in collaboration with other professionals and agencies. Must possess a valid SC driver's license and use of personal vehicle. Full-time position. May require flexibility in hours to accommodate client schedules. Must be able to pass standard background checks, including FBI Fingerprinting, SLED, DSS, Central Registry/Sex Offender, and DHHS' Exclusions Database check, as well as pre-employment drug test and employment physical.
